Healthy Gut Dip
Despite its unappealing name, this Healthy Gut Dip really does taste great. It is packed with gut friendly bacteria that will help build up your good bacteria in your gut and since a large proportion of our immune system is in our gut, it will also strengthen your immune system.
It is essentially a modified Tzatziki dip. I must admit I do often buy tzatziki from the supermarket because it is a healthier version of some other types of mayonnaise accompaniments.
However, after making this, the bought version just doesn’t cut it. This has a fresh and zingy flavour, perfect with chicken or fish dishes.
Why don’t you try it for yourself ? here is the recipe:
Healthy Gut Dip Recipe (serves 4)
1/2 cucumber (grated)
1 tbsp fresh lemon or lime juice
a few sprigs of fresh Dill
A few sprigs of mint
1 clove of minced garlic
1/2 cup probiotic plain yoghurt
1tsp extra virgin olive oil
1 dessertspoon ground flaxseeds with bio cultures and vitamin D
black pepper to taste
Method
Chop the dill and mint finely, mince the garlic and add all the ingredients together, mix thoroughly.
